Homeopathy after eye surgery

Homeopathic Remedies that Help After Eye Surgery or Operations

I was getting some remedies ready for a friend who was about to have an eye operation, so I thought it would be useful to share some of the remedies that can help after eye surgery.
If you need more help then please book in for an acute consultation or a free 15 minute chat.

Arnica – for bruising and swelling. Can be helpful for cataracts that develop after eye surgery, or for eye and visual complaints that have never been well since eye surgery.

Aconite – the ‘Arnica of the eye’ – this addresses the shock and promotes healing. Can be helpful for cataracts after eye surgery.

Bryonia – pains in the eye after surgery which are worse for movement.

Ledum – helps with bruising and also pain and injury from any injections.

Hypericum – nerve damage or nerve pain after operations. Also helps with pain from injections

Staphisagria  – pains in the eye after surgery. Staphisagria has an affinity for easing pain from and healing incised wounds. Can be helpful for cataracts that develop after eye surgery.

Once it’s safe to do so, it can also be helpful to soothe the eyes by bathing them with a solution of either Calendula and Hypericum tincture or Euphrasia tincture. To make a solution add one drop of the tincture per 15mls of cool boiled water and bathe the eyes by dipping a clean cotton wool pad in the mixture and cleaning the eyes gently. Use a new cotton wool pad for each eye. Alternatively you can use the solution as drops for the eyes, making a fresh solution each day.
