 ***** 5 stars  Couldn’t Put it Down

I love homeopathy, so when I saw this book recommended on a homeopathic FB page, I thought I’d give it a try. I am not a fiction reader, so didn’t think I’d be pulled into it. I was mostly interested in seeing how the author could blend homeopathy into the storyline. I received the paperback version yesterday and finished it already! That’s unusual for me as I usually fall asleep when I read and lose interest and never end up finishing a book. I loved this book! So exciting from start to finish! Would love to see that sequel come out.

***** 5 stars  Great fiction that actually sneaks in many homeopathic principals

Revive is a  fantasy action/adventure novel where the characters are based on homeopathic remedies. No prior knowledge of homeopathy is needed.  Homeopaths and non-homeopaths alike, can read it.  It is available on Amazon and has many 5 star reviews.
I wrote Revive as a fun and immersive way to experience homeopathic remedies and kingdoms. I have tried to stay as true to materia medica and used specific rubrics, gestures and words to bring the remedies and kingdoms to life. If you would like to know more about how I wrote Revive, click here

By  Christine M. Vaughan   Homeopath
I have just finished this book and I think it’s brilliant. It would make a fantastic film. The story is good, imaginatively written and a real page turner which would appeal to people of all age groups. Looking forward to the sequel.

This is a most enjoyable fast paced, page turner. I couldn’t decide whether it was science fiction, fantasy or adventure or a mixture of all three but whatever it is I am going to buy several copies as Christmas presents. A good book for teenagers upwards. Hopefully the next book will be written soon as I want to know what happens to all the characters in the first book.

***** 5 stars  Insightful, Clever, Lots of Fun, and a Great Intro to Homeopathy
By Dr. Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman
The author gifted me with this book to get my opinion since I have been a homeopathic doctor for over 30 years and love to read. At first I wasn’t sure whether the plot and characters/names might be a bit contrived to fit them into a homeopathic framework. But I quickly became enthralled and have to call it a page turner. The development of their personalities, based on what I know of the kingdoms and remedies were accurate and insightful. The more I read, the more the plot thickened and was quite suspenseful at times. It was a quick read because I couldn’t put the book down. Can’t wait for the sequel to find out what’s next!

Just finished this book and would thoroughly recommend it for both teenagers and adults. It has a bit of everything – great characters, original tribal societies, a touch of romance, twists and turns, interesting story, fantasy, adventure, natural remedies – but not too much of anything in particular which can sometimes overpower a story in my view. Original and a great all rounder which I agree, with another reviewer, would make a great film. It has left me wanting more and I shall definitely be reading the next book to see how the story continues..

***** 5 stars. To those who are reading this review I really recommend buying it you will not be disappointed just captivated

This book is something special! I bought it after reading the reviews although it was completely different to my normal “read” where I follow crime and thrillers. This book is outstanding is one of those where you are curious to turn each page and revel in each scenario. You are drawn into the plot, which although simple, has a series of adventures with different mystical creatures who are strangle believable. Another reviewer is quite right – this would make a superb film.

This shows a couple of excerpts from the book with the rubrics I used when writing, to give you an idea of how I wrote the novel.

Revive – A Novel Approach to Homeopathy

‘Revive’, is my first novel.  I had never thought of myself as an author but was inspired whilst studying at the London College of Classical Homeopathy in the nineties.  ‘A day in the life of Nux-vomica’, was the title of one of my early assignments.  I remember studying the various materia medica and repertories to build up a picture of the remedy and trying to step into the skin of Nux-vomica.  I loved the creative process.  It engaged so many different aspects of myself.  Imagining the character, moods, tastes and sensations of the remedy, in different situations, transported me into the remedy itself. It was a vivid way to learn a remedy and has stayed with me.  From that piece of work, the idea of writing a novel with characters based on homeopathic remedies was born.

Homeopathy never ceases to amaze me, and I have always found it somewhat magical. I wanted to write an exciting accessible novel, for teens upwards, to spread and convey these feelings;  a book that could be read and enjoyed on many levels without any prior knowledge of homeopathy,  by homeopaths and non-homeopaths  alike.  My aim was for all readers to learn or take something different from the novel.

During the next fifteen years, between my practice, getting married and having a daughter, I wrote little snippets and began forming an outline.  In 2010 I studied Dr. Sankaran’s, ‘Sensation method’ course via his live online lectures.  This opened another world to me, providing new material in the form of: specific vocabulary, themes, gestures, sensations, families and kingdoms.

I had the beginnings of an outline, but marrying up the characters and staying true to the materia medica, whilst creating an exciting plotline, was a challenge.  As a fan of fantasy from books, film and television, I knew that this was the genre I wanted to write in.  The remedies and kingdoms provided a perfect framework for this. I decided that the storyline would be a quest for a cure (something we homeopaths know a thing or two about).

Over the next few years, I spent many hours poring over materia medica and repertories to choose and create the protagonists.  I based the first characters on more well-known remedies such as Platina and Aurum, using the mineral kingdom as a backdrop. Serendipitously, ideas and plotlines confirming the characteristics of the remedies, and their interaction with each other, began to form.  Each remedy, its family and kingdom, provided huge inspiration and gave me ideas for character motivation, twists and turns that I had not envisaged at the start of writing. I was able to use specific rubrics, gestures and feelings to bring the remedy-based characters to life.

After completing half the book, I took a sabbatical from my practice to concentrate on writing.  Six months later, my first draft novel was complete.  Another eight months back and forth with a professional editor and my novel was finished.  I was over the moon and held a fabulous launch party with bubbles and canapes.  It has been an amazing journey and I have learnt so much.  My novel is now available on Amazon.  So far, ‘Revive’ has had a good response with a number of five star reviews.
